Argos Reveals Its Best Toys For Christmas 2013

4 Mar

Argos has created a list of 10 best toys for Christmas 2013.Christmas may be not here as yet, but it is time to get prepared for the holidays. A lot of toys on the list were very exciting. A lot of traditional products on the list have been given a whole new twist. Here are some of our favorite toys that appeared on their list.

Furby
The number one toy on Argos list is Furby. It was hard to pick the best toy, but Furby stunned Argos. Furby is not yet out. A lot of people will remember Furby. Furby first came out in the 90s. It managed to sell 40 million units. It’s back with a digital twist. They come to life. They have sensors all around them. The Furby actually will take on the personality of the child. Each of them is unique. It ‘s interactive. It talks to you and responds to you. Kids will love them.

VTech InnoTab 2
Last year we saw a bunch of new kids’ tablets and all of them were very popular. This is the second version of the InnoTab. The best part is that parents can actually get their iPads back. Children can get their very own tablet. The InnoTab is specifically designed for children. They are designed to be more durable than something like the iPad. This means that it will survive an accidental drop. The InnoTab is packed with loads of different activities and games for children. The most important thing is that children will learn at the same time as having fun.

Leappad 2
Leappad 2 is very similar to the InnoTab. Both of these tablets have cameras. One thing that we know is that children love taking pictures. They are like budding photographers. The cameras are much improved this time around so children can enjoy better quality photos. The old Leappad could take pictures but they were not very good. With the LeapPad, kids can also create a cartoon. All of the instructions are given. It is a great idea. There is some fantastic functionality on both of these tablets but we think that the LeapPad 2 has a slight edge. You can play something and have fun at the same time.

Minnie Mouse Van
Mickey and Minnie Mouse are two of the most recognized characters. Children absolutely adore them. This time Minnie Mouse made the list. This toy includes Minnie and her friends.  Minnie is going on a camping trip but she is taking her friends with her. There are some really important play patterns here. There is a nurturing element. The toy has a lot of great features and tremendous play value. Kids can make up their own scenarios. It’s a great addition to the Disney family.

Twister Dance
Twister Dance combines the old twister game with dance. Twister is one of the most popular games and has been around for a long time. It has a dance element to it. It works with music. There are colored dots on the floor and the colors light up.  You have to put your foot on the colors that light up and just dance along following the colors. Twister Dance updates a classic. One of parents’ biggest fears for their children is that they don’t get enough exercise. With Twister Dance you can add a fun element to exercising. Mom and dad can play along with this one or two player game. You will get a lot more out of it. It is designed for older kids.

Best Toys For The 2013 Christmas Season Include Batman

4 Mar

With the new Batman movie out we don’t have to wait until Christmas for the best toys for the 2013 Christmas season. Mattel is launching an entire line of Dark Knight Rises toys. We got a chance to check out some of them. In this line, there are toys for both serious adult collectors and toys for kids. These toys really capture the action from the movie. There are a number of items that you can pick up that are part of Batman’s arsenal. There are masks, action figures, hot wheel sets, and LEGO toys.

However, the one toy that we absolutely had to try out was the Batman Tumbler RC Vehicle from Hot Wheels. The package was easy to open. Yes, you read that right. I wish more toys had this type of packaging. Usually, you have to be and Olympian to open some of these packages. You still are going to need a pair of scissors to cut the package open. There is no plastic housing.  Taking the items out is very easy. You just have to twist the twist ties. Inside there is a car and a remote control.

Just like in the movie the toy is camouflaged. There is a lot of detail on the toy although some people may not like the army color of the vehicle. It’s got tinted windows and wind shield wipers. It requires a total of 6AA batteries to power the vehicle and the remote control. Two batteries are used in the remote control and four batteries are used in vehicle. It has got a lot of power especially in the rear wheels. The controls of the vehicles are spot on. There is one set of controls to move the vehicle forward and backward and another set of controls that will move it left and right. We had a ball going all over the house with the vehicle. Kids are going to have a lot of fun with this vehicle. It’s really meant for kids of all ages.

There are also detailed six inch action figures based on the characters from the Dark Knight Rises movies. These are called the Movie Master Series. These figures are beautifully sculpted and generally designed for collectors. There is Batman, Alfred, Bane, and Catwoman. The figures look just like the actors in the movie. If you collect them all, you can actually build a working bat symbol. Our favorite figure was the Catwoman because it captures the beauty of Anne Hathaway in stiletto heels. We didn’t expect a toy to look this great. If you look closely you will even see impressive details on the Bane figure. There are some great details on his mask. Batman is a perfect representation of the character in the movie. For the first time we are getting Alfred, though this figure is going to be hard to find.

For kids there are these QuickTek toys which allow you to instantly arm Batman. There are different Batman figures to collect in this line including: Deluxe Missile Batman, Deluxe Flight Strike Batman, Deluxe Combat Claw Batman, Deluxe Tank Blaster Batman and Deluxe Venom Master Bane. There is also a large version of the Bat that can launch Batman about 10 feet into the air.

Choosing The Best Toys For Kids For 2013

4 Mar

It can be difficult to select the best toys for kids for 2013. Part of the challenge is finding out what the hot toys are. It’s only July, but we already have a good idea what toys are going to be hot. Finding the best toys is a year long job. We have been watching the toy industry for so many months. Actually, we have been looking at Christmas toys since the start of the year. The toys are only starting to come out on store shelves. There are certain toys that stand out from the rest.

The easiest way to find the best toys is to go around to all of the toy companies and see what new toys they are bringing out. You can tell right away if a toy is going to be on the list. There is something different about these toys that makes them great. When a lot of people think about toys, they only think about it being fun. It might sound a bit obvious, but parents should pick toys that they think their children will want. A lot of parents forget about their kids when they are selecting toys. Never pick a toy that you like based on appearance. Don’t try to pick a toy that you know that your kids will play with only once or twice. The best way to get a quality toy is to try to get hands on time with the toy at a local retail store. You can also watch videos of the toy online or check out reviews from other parents. Think about your children and their likes. This is the best advice that we can give.

One question that we always get asked is how much should I spend? Children really don’t know how much you have spent. Most parents struggle greatly with this.  Save as much as you can. The easiest answer is to spend as much as you can afford.   Don’t ever spend more than you have.  If you do, you are going to hate Christmas. If children create a laundry list of toys tell them to pick just one or two.

A lot of parents ask whether they should choose educational toys. This is going to sound strange but every toy offers educational value. It doesn’t matter what kids play with, they are always learning something new and different. Toys can help kids learn more about themselves and even help them with problem solving skills. Other toys help kids develop relationships with others.

Safety is very important when selecting toys. You don’t want to choose toys that will fall apart after a few uses or contain lead inside them. The main thing is to get something your child is interested in. You can even ask your child if they are interested in a certain toy without directly stating the toy. Ask them if they like a certain character or if they would like a friend.

Children have a lot of expectations on Christmas day. It can be overwhelming for both parents and children. Kids might want a lot of things but there is no way that parents can afford to buy them everything that they want. Parents have to learn how to pick and choose.

Many parents want to know whether it is good to get kids one big present or a lot of little ones. It actually depends on the child. Some children want a big present. Other children prefer to a lot of smaller presents. Children all have different needs and you have to evaluate what your children want. We usually recommend getting one big toy and a few little ones like collectibles.  Then slowly give the children the toys. Never give the toys to the children all at once.  It won’t make the same impact. Children will only focus on one toy and forget the rest. It is better the stagger the presents.  If you give them everything at once they may only gravitate to one of two and then get overwhelmed. This might make them upset.

Always choose toys that are durable and things that that offer a lot of play value. Get them something that will last awhile and that they will show continued interest in. We can’t stress this enough, always think about longevity when choosing toys.

Children Create Their Best Toys 2013 Christmas Lists For Santa

4 Mar

Children are already starting to make their best toys 2013 Christmas lists and Christmas is still a few months away. It looks like Santa is going to receiving the lists a little bit earlier this year. Every year there are certain toys that everyone wants. Everyone is asking what are the best toys for 2013? We don’t have to wait much longer to find out.

Even though toys are supposed to be fun, it is also important to get toys that will help children learn. Some toys help children grow in several key areas. We like toys that help children with their creative and problem solving skills.

One of the best ways to discover what will be hot this year is to look at what was hot last year. Last year some of the biggest toys included the Leapfrog Tablet, a talking robot called Fijit, and a Sesame Street toy. The Leapfrog Leappad was among the hits because it brought the world of tablets to kids. Unlike traditional tablets this tablet was built for kids. It was priced under 100 dollars. Last year, retail stores had a hard time keeping it in stock. This year we are getting a ton of new tablets including an update the the Leappad.

One of the hottest toys for girls last year were the Fijit Friends. These toys were interactive robot designed for girls. Even though the voice recognition was a bit spotty, little girls everywhere wanted one. There were four different colors to choose from.  In retrospect, the Fijit Friends were very limited and we doubt that little girls will be playing with them today. We got caught in the hype and bought these dolls and we have already donated it away. Just because a toy makes a list, doesn’t necessarily mean it is a good toy. There is a new Fijit Friend this year called Fijit Friends Newbies. You can supposedly teach it tricks.

Another hot toy was Sesame Street Let’s Rock Elmo. This was one of the hottest toys for preschoolers. Elmo could not only sing but he could recognize various instruments that were placed close to him. Construction toys have always been some of the biggest sellers from Christmas. There are a ton of Sesame Street toys coming out this year.

The biggest question that people are asking is what toys will dominate the holiday season. Traditionally, toys which make innovative use of technology have earned a top spot. However, toys don’t have to feature the latest and greatest technology to be popular among consumers. One of the hottest toys last year were Dagedar. The toys were collectibles for boys. They were ball shaped and moved like vehicles when they were placed on tracks. This year there is a new line of these toys. They were simple but fun.

Toy companies are just starting to release their hot holiday lists and we are following them very closely. The first big retailer to release its list was Hamleys. Then Tesco followed with its own list. One of the biggest retailers, Argos has just released their list of the top 10 most wanted Christmas toys. There is a lot of overlap with the toys on the lists. Over the years, people have used the lists as a spring board to do their Christmas shopping. It really helps parents find out about all the best toys before they begin their holiday shopping.

Stay tuned for future posts where we cover all the hottest toys that are coming out this year.

So Many Best Toys 2013 Lists Are Floating Around. Is There Anything Good?

4 Mar

In the last month, there have seen so many best toys 2013 lists released. You can find them floating around on the Internet. We decided to take a look at them and give your our opinions on the toys.

First a little story. In order to find the best toys we have already started shopping for Christmas toys. People who see us on the street with bags filled with must be wondering why we have so many toys. All I need is a fake beard and a red and white suit and people might mistake me for Santa Clause. July is the time that people close to the toy industry typically go looking for the hottest toys. Buckle folks, it could get hectic over the next few months.

One of the most anticipated toys this year is Furby. We haven’t got our little smackers on him yet and still don’t know how much he will cost. From the video posted online, we think that this version of Furby is going to be a lot more interactive.  One thing that really bothers us is that you can’t turn him off. The only way for him not to be awake is to stick him in an area with no light. We think a lot of people are going to be throwing him in their closets, under the bed, or in a toy box.

Toy companies are all vying for the top spot. However, this year the competition is absolutely brutal. I have noticed that a couple of companies are already placing bets on some of the hottest toys. There is no doubt that LEGOs are going to be on the top of many lists. One thing that really stunned me is that nobody is excited about LEGOs new line based on monsters. I think the Monster Fighters line is bloody brilliant. We all knew that LEGO Friends was going to be a big hit among girls, but I think that the Monster Fighters line is the best line out of LEGO in a long time.

A lot of people are putting the Leappad 2 and the InnoTab 2 on their hot lists. These tablets look pretty much identical to last year’s versions. There are some nifty upgrades with the hardware. I am more excited about the Kurio which is a full fledged Android tablet.

I don’t understand why people are hyping up all the app toys. I have heard a number of journalists saying that is one trend that we should watch out for this year. I know that a lot of companies are going to be marketing their app toys, but I think that this trend was dead even before it begun. There is nothing I am looking forward to and I won’t be handing over to my iPhone to my child. Anytime soon. It’s going to stay in my pocket where it belongs not in the hands of my child.

With Santa getting to leave the North Pole pretty soon, he’s going to need more than a list of the best toys to satisfy everyone.
